Toronto Blue Jays Opening Day Roster

As the Toronto Blue Jays prepare to open their 2014 season in Tampa against the Tampa Bay Rays, their opening day 25 man roster breaks down as follows:

Relievers
Brett Cecil

Jeremy Jeffress
Aaron Loup
Todd Redmond
Esmil Rogers

Closer: Sergio Santos

Designated Hitter: Edwin Encarnación
First Base: Adam Lind
Second Base: Ryan Goins
Shortstop: Jose Reyes
Third Base: Brett Lawrie
Right Fielder: Jose Bautista
Centre Fielder: Colby Rasmus
Left Field: Melky Cabrera

Catchers: Dioner Navarro, Josh Thole, Erick Kratz

Rounding out the team are Moisés Sierra (fourth outfielder), and Maicer Izturis (Infielder).

Closer Casey Janssen starts out the year on the 15 day disabled list, so Sergio Santos will take over the closer’s role until he returns, and catcher Erick Kratz was called up to fill the opening in the roster.  Adam Lind and Edwin Encarnación will share the first base and D.H. positions, as they did last year.  R.A. Dickey is the opening day starter for the Blue Jays, while Dustin McGowan is scheduled to start the home opener on Friday.
