Team Canada’s Roster set for 2014 World Juniors

Team Canada has finalized the team that will represent Canada at the World Juniors starting Thursday.

After cutting their last three players following yesterday’s 3-0 loss to Sweden and their 4-2 win over Finland on December 20th.  The last three player cut are:  Felix Girard (Baie-Comeau Drakka), Hunter Shinkaruk (Medicine Hat Tigers), and Damon Severson (Kelowna Rockets.)

The team consists of:

Goaltenders: Zach Fucale (Halifax Mooseheads) and Jake Paterson (Saginaw Spirit.)

Defencemen: Chris Bigras (Owen Sound Attack), Mathew Dumba (Minnesota Wild), Aaron Ekblad (Barrie Colts), Josh Morrissey (Prince Albert Raiders), Adam Pelech (Erie Otters), Derrick Pouliot (Portland Winterhawks), and Griffin Reinhart (Edmonton Oil Kings.)

Forwards: Josh Anderson (London Knights), Jonathan Drouin (Halifax Mooseheads), Frederik Gauthier (Rimouski Océanic), Bo Horvat (London Knights), Charles Hudon (Chicoutimi Saguenéens), Scott Laughton (Oshawa Generals), Curtis Lazar (Edmonton Oil Kings), Taylor Leier (Portland Winterhawks), Anthony Mantha (Val-d’Or Foreurs), Connor McDavid (Erie Otters), Nicolas Petan (Portland Winterhawks), Sam Reinhart (Kootenay Ice), and Kerby Rychel (Guelph Storm.)

The Captain of Team Canada will be forward Scott Laughton.  The Assistant Captains are Jonathan Drouin (forward), and Mathew Dumba (defence.)  The team is coached by Brent Sutter.

Go let’s cheer on our team as they play for a gold medal at the World Juniors!
